Tuesday Tunes: Night Moves
This is unsustainable.

Hello friends. I am writing this after an impressively unproductive day that would truly leave you all breathless.
Why was I unproductive, you ask?
Well first of all, [WAVES AROUND EVERYWHERE].
Second of all, I went to sleep at 7am. That was just really stupid.
Third of all, in a long-simmering attempt to get my arms around my productivity, I spent five hours reading articles and watching videos to see if there was a note-taking platform that might help me in my internet research and writing. You know what I learned? No, there is not. Notion, Oblivion, Tara, Evernote, all that stuff is just not built for how I work. Also, you go to nearly all those websites and they're just braggggggging about AI. Get out of here.
Pen and paper it has been, pen and paper it is, and pen and paper it shall always be. Happy with it.
So after all that, I came to the conclusion that all I really need is a place to save all the internet links that I come across to use at a later date. So I just need a plain text syncable document. That's easy enough. But I was clicking around Writer, which is my plain text writing platform – have used it for 15 years, love it, no notes – and I was clicking around only to click on a button that created THAT chart above.
I truly did not know my night-owl hardwiring had gotten THAT bad. I'll have to pop a melatonin tonight and get back on track. Because sadly, the world is built for extroverts and day-people, of which I am neither. Every day is uphill.
Do y'all have a core memory of the first time, whether you truly realized it or not, your hard wired day/night preferences were on full display? Where it ceased to be "oh, I just kind of accidentally stayed up late/woke up early" and became a "oh, I just really prefer this this is who I am" kind of thing? My memory is quietly sitting in bed after midnight when I was 13 or 14 and peacefully organizing baseball and basketball cards. It's such a peaceful time.
Flash forward FAR TOO MANY YEARS and there I was last night, thinking of this as I was building 15 wooden crates to organize my crops and artisan goods in STARDEW VALLEY. Same same, but different.
Enjoy my nighttime tunes:
"it's like going to bed at a quarter to three, finally tired, finally empty"
