I still can't believe this match was suspended with 44 minutes to go before curfew. According to Taylor Fritz, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard wanted to stop, which duh. He had just blown a 5-1 lead in the fourth-set tiebreak and you could feel like Taylor Fritz, having scrapped back from two-sets-to-love down, was going to roll through the fifth set – WHICH AGAIN WOULD HAVE LIKELY TAKEN LESS THAN 44 MINUTES.
Now the match goes from a potential five-set thriller under the roof with a stopwatch to being a one-set shootout in the blazing heat at 2pm the next day. That's two completely different scenarios. Fritz has to feel really hard done.
Even I'm mad for him.
EVEN. I'M.
